Dental implants are prosthetic teeth that work to replace your natural teeth after you have lost them. Implants consist of two main parts — the implant post, which replaces your tooth root, and the implant restoration, which replaces the crown of the tooth.

When you receive dental implants, the first step will be placing your implant post into your jawbone. After this surgical procedure, you will have a period of healing to help you recover and allow the post to integrate with your jawbone. Following this healing period, our dentist will work with you to design and create a restoration that meets your unique needs. Depending on how many teeth you are replacing, your implant restoration could be a single crown, a bridge, or a complete or partial denture. The restoration will cap your implant post or posts to complete your treatment and fully restore your smile.

Dental implants are meant to be permanent replacements for your missing teeth. As such, they require the same care as your natural teeth, including regular brushing and flossing as well as routine visits to our dentist for preventive care.

Please note that while anyone who has lost teeth is a candidate for implant dentistry, you may need to receive additional treatments before you can get your implants if you have gum disease, tooth decay or another preexisting condition. Our dentist will examine your mouth and discuss your oral health with you to determine if additional treatments are needed and create a treatment plan.
