More Than a Cleaning

A dental prophylaxis, commonly referred to as a cleaning, is a clinical procedure— an important part of maintaining your oral health rather than simply a routine appointment. Consistent, thorough care is what keeps small concerns from becoming bigger ones, and what keeps your smile healthy for the long run.

What Your Visit Includes

Your first visit to Elevated Dentistry includes a comprehensive exam— a thorough evaluation of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health that gives Dr. Bottorff a complete baseline picture of where you stand. From there, subsequent visits include a periodic exam, which allows him to monitor changes over time, catch anything developing early, and ensure your care stays on track.

New patients also receive a 3D oral health scan, giving you a detailed, three-dimensional view of your teeth and gums— so you can see exactly what Dr. Bottorff sees. That scan is updated annually, creating a year-over-year reference that makes it easy to track changes over time and have informed conversations about your care.

X-rays are an equally important part of the picture. Many of the most common dental concerns develop between teeth or beneath the gumline— completely invisible without imaging. Keeping your X-rays current ensures nothing goes undetected, and Dr. Bottorff will advise how often makes sense for your specific needs.

Together, the prophylaxis, the exam, and maintaining current X-rays give you the most complete picture of your oral health— and the best foundation for keeping it that way.
